Pickleball Lessons


The Sequim Picklers offer free lessons at Third and Fir Streets when arranged in advance.  To sign up for a free lesson, click here to contact us.  Also available is novice practice at Third and Fir Streets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 PM, weather permitting.

Due to an injury (calf muscle) by Instructor Julie Haney, the Clinic will be postponed.  Date to be determined.
I will let all of you know when, in advance.  The ladies affected are:  Nancy ,Pam, Ruth, Diane, Jan, Virginia, Bea, Sue M, Laura, Margie, Sue C, Suzi, Jody, Phyliss…Now, there is time for more of you ladies to signup.  Cost is only $10 for you ladies this time only!  Julie is a Nationals, Silver Medalist, and Tournament of Champions, Bronze Medalist, also an active member of the Sequim Picklers.  Don’t miss this!

Lessons or Clinics by 5.0 established instructors

We are lucky to have two talented teaching Pros in our community. They are wonderful to work with, and can help you improve your game regardless if you are a newcomer to the sport, or a 4.5 player trying to make the jump to 5.0! Their approach to lessons is this:  If you are having fun, you learn more.  If you learn more, you’ll have more fun.   Here are the rates for their Private Lessons:

Private Lessons (One on One $40 and for each additional person is $10 up to 4 people max)

Clinic Programs will be offered once the new courts are established.

Doug Hastings IPTPA Certified Instructor

Doug is a 5.0 player and has been a part of the pickleball community for over 4 years, competing and teaching. He is a certified instructor through IPTPA. His passion is teaching, he has taught Elementary P.E. at Greywolf Elementary since 1998 and during some of that time he coached the high school boys and girls tennis teams for about ten years. Now his passion has turned towards pickleball.

Kyle McKenzie

Grew up on the Olympic Peninsula and graduated from Sequim High School in 2004. He played Division I collegiate tennis at the University of Idaho and has served as an instructor in both individual and group settings. After being introduced to pickleball two years ago, he made a fast jump to the 5.0 level and was recently named the Brand Ambassador for Aero Paddles, a local pickleball company based in Port Angeles, WA. He has a keen eye for technical form, a natural passion for strategy, and has competed against some of the best players in the Pacific Northwest.
